Pocket Money Polishes Sunshine

If you read my post yesterday - the mystery glitter is Pocket Money Polishes Sunshine! This is one of Charlie's August-released colours, it's a mix of yellow and red matt hexes with a few larger orange hexes too, all held together with a background of holographic microglitter!

With Sunshine being primary yellow and red, it needed a base of primary blue, and the best one I have without any glitter or shimmer that will compete with what's going on in Sunshine is Rescue Beauty Lounge IKB 2012 (click through to my post about that polish on its own to see more pictures if you like blue nail polish!). This polish is also an appropriate pairing for Charlie's glitter since she mentioned something about selling her polishes for a limited time in the USA soon - so why not match Sunshine with a polish from one of the best known US niche brands!

Charlie describes Sunshine as turned up version of her earlier polish, Pina Colada, and I agree with this - the colours are hotter and brighter. So I used a much more vibrant base than when I wore Pina Colada, and I used two coats of Sunshine (I used just one thin coat of Pina Colada to get a more delicate effect) to turn up the effect!

I really like this polish! Application is easy, there's no need to fish for glitter and they stay in suspension in the bottle, not all stuck to the bottom and sides. I used a coat of Gelous to smooth out the glitter and a coat of Seche Vite to finish with for this mani.

I bought Sunshine direct from Charlie at her website; she updates her blog and facebook page regularly with details of updates and new colours.

    1. Thank you! I always think it's harder to combine a glitter and base that are the same colour. And I think red is one of the most difficult colours to work with.
