Quirk - Breast In Show (LE)

Quirk Breast In Show

This polish was my prize from the lovely Kerrie at the new UK Indie brand Quirk Polish for her nail art competition. The competition was for a pink mani to mark Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October - this mani was my entry. I was so pleased to win this!! And Breast In Show is a gorgeous polish too - it's a mix of tiny square glitter (I love square glitter) in a range of pinks:

I used one coat of Nicole by OPI Our Fuschia's Looking Bright as a base for this mani - probably unnecessary as I'm sure Breast In Show would give full coverage in two or maybe three coats, but when I'm wearing full coverage glitters I like to have something to wrap my tips with and to give a crisp edge around my cuticles. NOPI OFLB was just the first fuschia I put my hand on - no other reason for choosing it. This is two coats of Breast In Show with a coat of Gelous and two coats of Seche Vite to smooth it out. Glitters like this always need plenty topcoat.

These macros are taken with my DSLR and the light where I have it set up has given the polish a slightly warmer colour ~ in real life the mani is more like the pictures above (on my screen anyway).

I wore Breast In Show alone yesterday and most of today, but I've just added a little stamping to tone down the sparkle for work in the morning. I used Barry M Matte Polish in Caramel (I've been wanting to test the Barry M Mattes out for stamping and the answer is yes, they stamp great) with a zebra design from the Cheeky 'Wild at Heart' Jumbo plate. The images on the Cheeky Jumbo plates are perfect for my nails at their current length - some of my Konad and BM plates are too short, and I don't consider my nails long right now.

Overall, I love Breast In Show - thank you so much Kerrie! This polish was a special for the nail art competition, but Kerrie's other polishes are available at Sally Magpies. I'm kicking myself that I didn't buy Peace is Free before it sold out! I bought Barry M Matte Polish in Caramel from my local Boots and the Cheeky Jumbo plate from Amazon. Cheeky plates ship from China, but mine only took a couple of weeks to get to the UK.
