Pocket Money Polishes I Want Candy [Untried Polish Challenge Day 9 *Newest*]

Pocket Money Polishes I Want Candy

I'm moving from oldest untried to newest - this was out of the jiffy bag and on my nails within the day! A neon glitter - and a UK Indie brand! I Want Candy is a new colour from Charlie at Pocket Money Polishes and it's astonishing - so bright and cheerful.

I love neon glitter, and square glitter, and this polish has both! The other thing I like about it is that the glitters are the satiny-opaque type rather than transparent, so the polish works great as a topper over any colour base. I chose a navy, B. Complete Brit, as my undies for I Want Candy - but I think it would look great in combination with just about any colour.

B. Complete Brit is a Superdrug brand, the polish is OK, I quite like the colour and it was opaque enough in two coats. Had I been wearing it alone I'd have probably done a third coat. The brush on B. Complete polishes is too big, ridiculously big! I like a bigger brush, so I can enough colour on to cover the whole length of my nails, but this is too big even for me. I'm not sure I'd recommend B. Complete polishes and I won't buy any more myself.

But the point of my post is to show off Pocket Money Polishes I Want Candy, which I think is fantastic. I used two thin coats here, the glitters are perfectly suspended in the base so no fishing or dabbing required. I added a coat of Gelous and a thick coat of Seche Vite quick drying top coat to get a nice smooth finish to the mani.

And of course it's awesome that this is a UK Indie brand! Here are a few macro shots to show the variety in the glitters - first in the bottle........

And then on my nails!

I love this glitter - I really, really didn't want to take it off my nails! This is one I'll be coming back to over and over again.

I purchased I Want Candy direct from Charlie at her website, along with another couple of bright glitters I'll be showing soon. I Want Candy is officially released on Monday 8 July; I mentioned to Charlie how much I like neon glitter and she told me about this polish she was working on, so I was lucky to get a bottle early. I purchased the B Complete polish from my local Superdrug.

And now I'm past half way in the untried challenge (although to be fair I don't really count polishes as untried until they've been around a few weeks at least, so I think today might be a bit of a cheat) - 7 more to go!
